One of the major problems with the standard so called green energy production systems is that they generally are able to produce a lot of power at the time when household usage is at a minimum. Many systems cope with this by selling the spare power back to the energy suppliers by the national grid but others are based on a free usage of power on condition that the roof is rented so that any excess power is sent via the national grid and the benefit is gained by the owner of the solar panels fitted on the roof.
